SUMMER LEFTOVERS

Well, friends, it is getting to that time of year when it is hot as blazes, but somehow your summer clothes just don’t look right. Since it is the month of September, I would not wear the dresses that I am posting today, but you have not seen them so here they are. You might see them again next spring!

As usual, I like for you to see before and after, so here is a pretty spring/summer dress that I added to as I went along:

Here is another:

And here are some outfits that I probably can wear for a few more weeks:

I’ll be back soon with some jean-jacket looks. ย Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I loved both of those dresses. Can’t imagine why you wouldn’t wear them for a few more weeks if the weather is warm. Where I live the month of September is just a continuation of August, over 100 all month. What is September like in the south?

    1. Anne, you are right. It is meteorologically (is that a word? ha ha) summer, but style-wise it is “transition time”…which means wearing clothes that are cool and comfortable but not too summery looking, but also not quite fallish. It seems silly…it is silly..but I just can’t make myself wear bright summer clothing in September ๐Ÿ˜‰

  2. I love your blog! Showing outfits before and after – and sometimes in between – is a tremendous help in seeing how my own outfits could use tweaking (or complete overhauls :D). Thanks for having the guts to post the not-so-great outfits and mistakes. You’re truly an inspiration!

    1. Kris, thank you so much! I am just trying to do the kind of blog that I looked for and couldn’t find. Most of the style blogs I found were filled with beautiful sophisticated photos of beautiful sophisticated people in beautiful sophisticated locations. Nice, but not that helpful to me. I have learned so much from just trying things, and truly hope that maybe some other people can benefit and start trying things too!

      1. I don’t like to cast aspersions, but one fashion blog I tried to follow had a woman over 40 who was approximately a size 4, as the author. Every time she bought a new piece of clothing there were at least 8 pictures of her wearing that piece. I mean, did we really need to see her new blouse from 8 different angles?

And she certainly could have done the rest of us in middle age the favor of gaining some mid section weight. Right? ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

        1. Oh Anne, I know what you mean. There are some bloggers who just seem to say “Look how great I look! I am small! I am cute! I can’t even choose which photo is the best! They all look great!” Totally agree that those kind of blogs are not very helpful, even if the outfits are great. ๐Ÿ˜‰
