WHITE SHOES

Many thanks to all of you who helped me with which shoes to wear with my blue-striped top. Thanks to you, I have put my white shoes in the Goodwill pile, and will not wear coral sandals with that outfit.

Today’s post is a short one. I am showing you another summer outfit (last white one for this year!) with different shoes. The purpose of these posts is just to get you thinking. Sometimes just changing your shoes can make or break an outfit.

Hmmm. After seeing these, maybe I should keep the white sandals. What do you think? I will abide by the majority. Just vote YES or NO. ย YES means I keep them, NO means they go to Goodwill. ย Thanks!

Also thinking I really don’t like this necklace with the outfit. This is why you take pictures ๐Ÿ˜‰

Still learning! See you soon.

  1. YES! Tho you didn’t ask — love the blue/white stripe #1 and thong flower shoes #5! Not crazy about the necklace either, maybe silver or lite blue/white combo to compliment the starfish ๐Ÿ™‚ Cute top!!!

  2. Yes! Also since you didn’t ask…I like #2 & #6. You look younger and really thin in #6. I would lose the necklace since you have larger earrings. I don’t think it does anything special for the outfit. The whole outfit looks cute and comfy though!

  3. About the outfit, I like #5 or the white shoes. I would leave off the necklace but I want you to do a post on How to stand in a photo to look thinner. It really makes a difference, I have a family photo and I would love to figure out a flattering pose.

    1. Hi Sue, I will try to remember to do a post on this, but I read this in another blog (don’t remember where). This may not be exactly right, but here is pretty much what I do. Put your weight on your back foot and stand just slightly to the side. And this sounds crazy, but stick your neck out. Try to leave some space between your arms and your body, especially if you are wearing long sleeves. That is the short version for now! And you do not need to worry about how you stand. You always look great. ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. Thanks, Susan. Obviously it’s been a while since we’ve seen each other!
I say, yes, keep the white sandals. You may need them some day. I LOVE the blue and white striped shoes with this outfit, in the first picture!! So cute!!

  4. Cute shirt. I don’t think you should get rid of the white shoes…it just find the right outfit for them. I agree with the others, I don’t just love the necklace with this outfit.

  5. I’m going to be the dissenting voice and say I don’t like any of the shoe choices….could I see something in a nude?? Lol. Agee with all to ditch the necklace..maybe some bracelets and a cute clutch? I just so love that you do this type of blog…..it is so very interesting to see how outfits can look totally different with a change here or there. Maybe someday I’ll get brave enough to photograph myself! You are the only fashion blog I look for each day!

    1. Paula, thank you so much! And you know what? I think I will try nude. Glad to have you as a reader. I will continue to experiment!

  6. No! Please don’t hate me! Only reason I say that is because I have the same problem with white shoes. I have a couple pairs, but every time I try to wear them, they just look soooooo white and I end up looking much better in neutral! Makes me sad in a way. I used to wear white sandals all the time in years gone by, but I simply cannot make them work now. And believe me, I’m not a “fashionista”! I do, however really like the outfit you’re wearing…really cute!

    1. Marie, I agree with you. I always think I will like them, but somehow they don’t ever look just right. Maybe I will just wait and decide next summer. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  7. I hate “nude” shoes. There is no pizazz there. Don’t give away your white sandals. If you aren’t crazy about that particular pair then shop for another set. However, I am also crazy about the striped sandals and the pair with a flower on them. I personally like sandals/shoes that have visual interest and both of those do. Most of my sandals have a flower, bow, cutwork, stripes or something visually pleasing on them. Even some of my Keds type sneakers have polka dots, stripes, patterns etc. But, that’s just one woman’s opinion.

  8. I like the white shoes with your cute outfit. I love that necklace and have been searching for it at all the shops I can think of for it but no luck. :-(. I do agree with the previous replys about not using it with this outfit. I liked the bracelet idea

  9. Yes to the white sandals with the white skirt. I also do not usually like white sandals but with white slacks or skirts it is doable. I like the necklace because it is one of the first things I noticed. It drew my eyes up instead of to the stripes across your middle.

  10. I’m catching up on e-mails today so it appears this post is a couple of days old. I’m always the one who promotes nude shoes. However, with this outfit I think the white looks great. AND — I love that top. So unique and colorful!

  11. Thanks for joining the Top of the World Style linkup party with your great look. White shoes are tricky. One easily looks like a German nurse or doctor. However, you pulled them off in a great way so they are a statement!

  12. This is a really cute outfit, Susan. It is fun to see how a different shoe changes up the whole look! I do this all the time standing in front of my mirror every morning. I really like the striped shoes with this look. Thanks for linking up with Fabulous Friday!
