Are you ready for another transitional outfit? I am alternating between dresses and jeans. This one does have some fall color.  I know you will not be surprised that I added a belt and a sweater.  I only have so much imagination when it comes to disguising my figure flaws, and this combination seems to work pretty well.

I don’t remember where I got this dress, but pretty sure it was from Ross for about $12.00. The sweater is a $5.00 WalMart item. I will show you how I got to the outfit I will actually wear.

  1. Try on the dress:

2. Add a belt and a necklace:

3. Add a sweater, a bracelet and some cute shoes:

Of course, I will have to wear it in an air-conditioned place, but that’s okay. I am not going outside again until it cools off!

Today I am linking up with Tania on Wednesday’s Wardrobe.

  1. Great looking outfit. Love the sweater! Colors are great. And I agree with you about the weather-I do not dress for hot weather because I have no intention of being outside.

  2. These are great ideas. I am teaching at the University of North Alabama for fall semester and I need these ideas. It is so hot, but it is after Labor Day and the white pants I have been wearing everyday are staying in the closet.

  3. Often wear sleeveless dresses into fall with cardigans to get more wear out of them AND to cover up flabby upper arms but what a difference the belt & necklace makes! Going to have to go shopping for some belts. Enjoy your blog!

    1. Thank you, Pamela. This is my tried and true solution. I discovered that belts made me look like I had a waist as long as I disguised everything with a cardigan. 😉

  4. Cute outfit & I LOVE the colors! Coral is one of my favorites. I also have to wear belts to define my waist because I have none! It goes from my belly button to my boobs! I need to get more dresses to try this idea. Like on casual days at work, instead of wearing jeans, this would be a great go to.
Thanks for all your tips! We really appreciate it! (This post is going in my binder!)

  5. What a difference the finished look has! A cardigan, belt, necklace and shoes change the entire look. Well done! I really like this look! Thanks for sharing!

  6. Just found your blog. Love it! I too am a bargain shopper but I usually stop at the purchase.
I think you’re going to give me lots of inspiration.
